Sesame Beef Tacos

Week 1 Meal 3 on the Hello Fresh journey. This was a great change up because we’ve never had tacos like this before. We have experienced these same flavors in Korean Bibimbap bowls though. When we lived in Richmond, VA we loved visiting J Kogi in Jackson Ward. Now that we are here in L.A., we are learning that there are so many great Korean places to explore.

Lessons Learned:

  • Read the ingredient list before opening the meal kit! We didn’t have sugar so we used clementines and orange juice to sweeten the pickle solution.

  • The meal kit does not always contain all the ingredients so be prepared.

  • You can get creative with the sour cream sauce! Add more or less sriracha or even other ingredients suited for your taste.

  • If you enjoy making tacos, wraps, etc., a tortilla press is definitely a plus.

We did not realize how simple it was to make “pickled” ingredients. The pan sauce that the beef was mixed with was absolutely tasty. This is definitely a dish we will try to recreate many times in the future!
