Mary Anne Laguerta

Mary Anne, who is also known to use the stage name mamatell, is a creative being from head-to-toe.

Her early education is grounded in fine arts which led her to complete a BFA in Kinetic Imaging at VCU with a concentration in video, sound, and animation. Alongside this experience, her interests in creative writing, planning, and performing flourished, all of which ignited her love for the world of performance and production.

Although her introduction to this world was as a visual artist and performer, she grew fond of being responsible for handling planning and production logistics. She found a calling within the role of project management and began to step away from the creative end. Mary Anne found joy in facilitating complex collaborations among all types of creatives both professionally and through her various passion projects.

Today, Mary Anne is completing her Secondary Education Masters with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology at ODU. She is drawn to the idea of learning and teaching and takes pride in her work being driven by the principles of effective and efficient communication. With great admiration for creative productions, such as the online learning experience of MasterClass and Vox's docuseries The Mind, Explained, she aims to be a creative director producing high-quality products and experiences of the similar caliber.

β€œI want a seat at the table where ideas are born and exist beyond dreams. I want a hand in combing through the seemingly impossible and helping ambitious visions materialize. I never want to stop creating.”
