Joe Laguerta
Joe, much more than the average, is full of energy and curiosity. He loves to learn and play wherever he can fit it in, which perfectly aligns with his current fitness profession.
As a lifelong sports enthusiast, he has dreamed of working with professional athletes to enhance their core skills and abilities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Physical Education and Exercise Science at VCU with a concentration in Exercise Science. Throughout school, he had many people-service oriented jobs such as serving, bartending, and personal/group training. Many of his clients will confidently attest to the fact that he’s mastered his ability to effectively multitask while providing high quality customer service.
Currently, Joe is a personal trainer and aims to continue working with young athletes. Alongside helping them build their fitness skills, athletic awareness, and mental fortitude, he gets to do one of his favorite things of all which is working in a dad joke here and there. Training young athletes, both in one-on-one and team settings, has empowered him to creatively inspire each player in recognizing their potential and valuing their growth. Fitness and sports aside, your friendly neighborhood Joe is an avid gamer, loves manga and anime, and above all else is an all around family man.
“The foundation of a successful journey is powered by internal motivation. As trainers, it’s essential that we illustrate that the development of athletic stamina not only physical means, but with the mind as well. So answer me this, would you rather fight a horse-sized duck or a hundred duck-sized horses? It’s the ultimate question.”
